  • As of less than an hour ago, FusionFall Universe has been shut down:

The FFU website has been deleted, Retro can no longer be played, and Legacy is canceled. This is... well, it's pretty horrible.

The future of this wiki will probably be similar to what it was like when the original FusionFall closed. My only hope is that the wiki can be edited to a state of completion (particularly the Mission Pages).

    • I was able to complete all of the mission pages. (Except for the Knishmas and Valentines Day missions.)

    • I always suspected a DMCA takedown would eventually happen, but I never knew when. It's a real shame that years of work put into these two games are now gone. The forums were fun to browse and I have so many memories on them. Heck, a forum member even got me into JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

It's saddening that we'll very likely never get to play FusionFall in any capacity ever again. It played a big role in many people's childhoods, including mine.

    • According to twitter thread some user named Indes had falsely reported the game and devs for various charges (including ped/ophilia and money laundering) to the legal team of CN, who automaticallly (i think?) sent out request to take the game and site down. The user was being petty and terrible because the devs didnt do what they wanted (add something to the game on their request or something of the same sense), and promised to take down any devs associated with this project out of this pettiness.

Is it true? The links and photos seem to be geniuine, not to mention that I can see some low life do something like that out of pettiness more than CN waking up randomly to take the game that has been up for years and didnt bother them at all before.

    • It doesn't matter whether the situation is true or not.

The bottom line is that the devs were using Cartoon Network's IP and Cartoon Network had the legal right to take the game down.

    • We have to do something, though. I know cartoon network is a big company and we're just a small fanbase but these allegations are false. We know this and the dev team knows this. We have screenshots, PROOF that indes was lying. He's scum and we can't let the mf win. This game was childhood for all of us so lets not let this shutdown slide for the second damn time. There's a petition on change.org. I Do not know if it will work and it most likely wont, but we have to try. If not, we have to spam CN like Indes did. The fusionfall team did a lot for us by bringing back a game we loved. Lets repay the favor. We have to get Cartoon Network to listen. The tools are in our hands now so lets use our talent.

From my understanding, it turns out that CN didn't take the game down due to Indes's false proof. Rather, they supposedly didn't know about FusionFall Universe in the first place, and the email alerted them to its existence. So, while Indes certainly isn't a good person, his false evidence didn't have anything to do with the takedown.

I think that's bullshit. Six years. SIX YEARS and no one over at CN had any idea that this was going on? The Retro site said they gotten permission from CN before, the devs too. Although, if what you're saying is true, CN needs to burn.

(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifPUrr5Gfcg) A large YouTuber asked one of the devs about the situation via discord, and they said that FFU NEVER got permission from CN to use FusionFall and any of their characters. They asked them for permission in an email, but CN never responded, and they started the project anyway, which in all honesty was very irresponsible on the devs part, since they were breaking copyright law by operating without CN's consent, they didn't even know FFU existed.

The most likely reason for why CN took down FFU now and not when they started up is because they have only recently started marketing their back catolouge of shows under the name "Cartoon Network Legacy". Before the CnD, if you searched that into google, FusionFall Legacy popped up, so CN both didn't want FFU using its characters and messing up search results for their content, so they ordered them to close up shop.

In the end, FusionFall is CN's property. Only they have the right to choose what happens to it, and if they don't want to invest in it anymore, the fans are going to have to live with their decision.

I was in high school when I discovered FusionFall. Never actually played the game, though.
