Shopkeepers[1] are NPCs in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. They are retail merchants or tradesmen; people who own or operate a small shop where the Avatar can either buy or sell different items for Taros.
Gameplay[]
In gameplay, Shopkeepers are NPCs that the Avatar can interact with in order to either buy certain items with Taros, or sell items to for Taros. They can be found in several places all over the Cartoon Network Universe, though typically at points of great interest. Most of the Shopkeepers have a light blue holographic icon above them that indicate the type of items they sell:
- Cap with glasses: The Shopkeeper sells accessory items.
- Shirt: The Shopkeeper sells body items.
- Pants: The Shopkeeper sells leg items.
- Shoe: The Shopkeeper sells shoe items.
- Raygun: The Shopkeeper sells weapon items.
- Battery: The Shopkeeper sells Weapon Boosts, Nano Potions and/or gumballs.
- Hoverboard: The Shopkeeper rents vehicles.
- Shopping cart: The Shopkeeper sells miscellaneous items.
Typically, different types of Shopkeepers tend to appear in the same general area, making them easily accessible at hubs. Shopkeepers are normally affiliated with either the Plumbers, Kids Next Door, Urban Rangers, Dexbots, Mandroids, Candy Pirates, SACT, or the Monkey Minions.

The store interface at a Shopkeeper, from OpenFusion.
To start interacting with a Shopkeeper, left click when close to them to make an interactive icon appear, and left click on "ENTER STORE" button to open the sales window. Once on the store interface, the player can either sell or buy items from the Shopkeeper. The Avater's own inventory will be displayed on the right side of the interface while the Shopkeeper's inventory is showcased on the left side, under the "BUY" tab. Notably, the icon for any items in the Shopkeeper's inventory on the store interact will have a red background if the Avatar cannot use it, be it either because they are under-leveled or because they have the wrong gender. That said, the Avatar can still buy such items. However, if the Avatar does not have enough Taros to buy an item, then the price for that item will be written in red. Gender aside, as the Avatar levels up, they will be able to purchase better items from the Shopkeepers.
While on the store interface, the player can left click on an item's icon in the Shopkeeper's inventory to bring up an information window for said item. When doing so, another information window for the same type of item that the player has already equipped will open parallel to it, allowing the player to compare them; if a stat for any of these two items is lower than the other, the lowest of these two stats will be written in red in their information window while the highest will be written in green. If the player is not wearing an item with the same type as the chosen item in the store though, no extra information window will open for comparison.

The store interface at a Shopkeeper with the preview of the equipped Avatar active, from OpenFusion.
In the information window for the item the player wants to buy, the player has the "TRY ON" and "BUY" buttons. By left clicking on the former, the player is given a preview window of how the Avatar will look while equipped with the desirable item, complete with the option to rotate the preview around using arrow icons on the bottom of the preview window. To close the preview, left click the red button in the upper-right corner of the preview window. Should the player left click the "BUY" button instead, they will purchase the chosen item from the Shopkeeper, and its price will automatically be subtracted from the player's Taro total. However, if the player does not have enough Taros to buy the item, the game prevents the player from purchasing it.
If the player wants to sell items in their Avatar's inventory at a Shopkeeper instead, left click the chosen item to sell in the Avatar's inventory on the right side of the store interface to bring up its information window. In the item description for this window, it will say how many Taros the Shopkeeper is willing to pay for said item. To go through with the trade from here, left click the "SELL" button in the information window for the chosen item. Otherwise, left click the "CANCEL" button to cancel the trade. For speedy transactions, they player may also right click on any item in the Avatar's inventory to automatically sell it. Should the player sell something by mistake though, they can buy it back for exactly the same price that they got from the Shopkeeper by clicking on the "BUY BACK" tab above the Shopkeeper's inventory in the store interface and selecting the item they want back. Sold items are only available for repurchase for a limited time though, as the Shopkeeper can only keep a limited list of the items sold to them. That means should the player sell too many items afterwards or quit the game after the sale, the item will disappear from the "BUY BACK" tab.
To leave the store interface, left-click on the red button in the upper-right corner of the window.

Fusion Invasion[]
The Future[]
In the Future, the Shopkeepers left at that point in time were used by the Avatar and other soldiers opposing the Fusion Invasion to buy and sell items. Despite the state of the Earth though, a few more Shopkeepers would keep popping up from time to time while others only stayed for a while or retired.
The Past[]
In the Past, the Shopkeepers around the Earth would be used by the Avatar and other soldiers opposing the Fusion Invasion to buy and sell items. As the war continued, more Shopkeepers would continue to pop up, most of which would set up permanent shops while others only stayed for a while or retired.
