A while back, I pitched to this wiki about a fanfiction reimagining of Cartoon Network, with the first arc being based off FusionFall. Well, I'm happy to say that the first chapter is finally uploaded, and ready for viewing.
I do hope you like it, and make no mistake, this is not a one shot. I will be continuing this story and trying to make it not just good fanfiction, but as good as a book might be. I'm telling this to you because you have been the most supportive to everyone on this wiki, including me and my story. Thank you @Tannhaeuser for everything, and I hope to see you on FusionFall Retro in the future.
I'm back! It's like I never left. So sorry for leaving you guys high and dry for so long, I should've come back immediately. My first instinct, honestly, is to ask: what happen here? New front page? Nice. The CSS codes actually working? I'm shocked!
Well, superheroes and vigilantes are very different things, to my mind. I think “Tannhäuser” would do for a superhero name, if people would remember that it’s pronounced (more or less) “Tonnhoyzer” — or maybe, The Minnesinger would be better. I’d probably be a pretty wimpy superhero, though.
As a vigilante, I’d be called “Vehmgericht,” and I’d wear a robe, cape, and capirote like the people in a Spanish Holy Week procession, all in black, or possibly black with a silver skull and crossbones embroidered on the hood and cape. I’d carry a flaming Zweihänder (in one hand), and my catchphrase would be, “I am the Court of Final Appeal — I am Judge, Jury, and Executioner — I am Vehmgericht! Hahahahahahahhaha!” (Awfully close to villain material, but vigilantes are almost always antiheroes anyway…)
Hi! If you really want to change the images on the Nano Powers Page, it looks like you'll have to go into the template, change how THAT works, then rename all of the images of the nanos, and THEN go into the page and change it.
The original template and the nano image naming system was made when the game only had 36 nanos. When they started adding more, the template became largely outdated.
It's a VERY tedious thing to fix. Unfortunately, I am not that good with templates.
Oh, I will have to try that. I just find the whole numbered Nanos thing very confusing -- I never quite understood why they weren't simply called by their names in the first place. I AM trying to keep up with the wiki, but it does require a lot of really tedious work at times.
You are right; they are tedious in the extreme. I have been meaning to start checking youtube for missions that may have been posted there, but I have to admit that I have a certain reluctance to try plowing through all that work. (I trust, by the way, that nobody feels that I am criticizing the work they have done on the wiki. I can't say how grateful I am for this wiki and its editors, and how useful it has been. Naturally, I might have done some things differently, but I am extremely impressed with how well, on the whole, the FusionFall wiki has been set up, particularly compared to some others I have seen.)
I want to apologize for having let the wiki drift a bit lately. I see that certain outbreaks of incivility have occurred during my lapse into inattentiveness, and I want to remind our members -- rather strongly -- that no kind of trolling will be tolerated. I prefer to keep a very light hand on the till, but the effects of allowing this kind of misbehavior are so severe that I feel it is necessary to be rather sterner about this than is natural to me. DO NOT PROVOKE YOUR FELLOW MEMBERS. If other members provoke you, please do not argue with them, but instead refer it to an administrator, who will review the situation and take appropriate action.
I am one of this wiki's early contributors and a former admin. I had gone through some tough times and I was without a decent computer for a while, so I've drifted from the Fusionfall Community for a few years. Now I am a college student and I have had a tragic burst of nostalgia. I miss this game so much and I feel an emptyness in me. For me I feel like a good direction for the fusionfall community is to unite all the communities of fusionfall. I think cross pollination of the members of the communities should be a goal. But enough about me and my aspirations. It looks like you're the big cheese so I am interested in your goals.
What are your goals for this wiki right now?
Do you have any goals for the fusionfall community in general?
Have you been following the Fusionfall Legacy or Fusionfall: Rewritten projects?
What is the goal of the Fanonfall Wiki?
It's great to meet you Tannhaeuser, I hope I'm not being too presumptuous, It looks like the wiki is in good hands :)
~Arceus Master Elemental
P.S. I am a music major so I really dig your name :D
I am very happy to greet one of the founders of this very useful resource.I understand completely about the lack of connection, and am glad that you are now able to return to your old stomping grounds.I know how you feel about the lack of FusionFall; there is a bigger Null Void inside me in regards to it now than there ever was on Ben 10.
You are a bit mistaken in regarding me as a Big Cheese: I’m a very small cheese, a Baby Swiss, if you will.I don’t feel I have the qualifications to be too dogmatic about the game, inasmuch as I only started playing it towards the end of its run — I never trained in The Future and all that. That being the case, I have been trying to keep a very, very light hand on the till — I don’t want to do anything more than keep obvious errors and deliberate trolling from being posted. Here at FusionFall, I do try to do research to keep the pages accurate; over at FanonFall, I merely try to keep the peace, to keep it at least somewhat “kid-friendly,” and to make the entries as consistent with each other as possible.
I should state frankly that I would very gladly jettison quite a lot of the material at FanonFall if I were a Vozhd’ or Duce, but since encouraging free expression and creativity seem to me to be more important than enforcing my own tastes, I have refrained from eliminating a great deal of material that I find personally distasteful.
I don’t really aspire to any long-range plans for either of the two Wikis, FusionFall or FanonFall.I am by nature pretty much a support kind of guy; I don’t really have a vision of a New Wiki Order to fulfill. I am just a grammar fanatic who thinks that if people want to write, they should spell and punctuate properly, and who thinks fans of the same great game should not bite and bicker at each other.
I haven’t been following any of the outside projects very closely, I’m afraid.I had looked in on one or two of them, and found them so filled with the spirit of bitter quarrelling that I was quite put off.I would be very glad to learn that there were any really constructive and creative attempts to build on the basis of the game.
I am very glad to welcome anyone who has a real vision to the wikis, especially a person with knowledge and experience.I would invite you to share your goals with all our members; perhaps we can re-ignite that old battling anti-Fuse spirit, and start producing some real results.I would love to see a burst of creativity resulting in a flood of FusionFall-inspired fan fiction, fan art, fan games, and fan works generally.
So, welcome back, Arceus Master Elemental! To coin a phrase, the time is now, and the hero is you!
P.S.: Thanks for the compliment on my handle.I have been using it on the computer since 1985, and it has given uniform satisfaction — to me, if not to those trying to spell and pronounce it.What can I say? I’m a Wagner fanatic, too.I’d love to hear your musical tastes and creations as well.
Well I can certainly give you a taste of my late High School Career, alot of incomplete compositions and arrangements. I don't have my recent compositions online because of computer issues: http://musescore.com/user/86020
I'm a bit bumbed that the Mission pages never got completed. That was something I worked on really hard, but I only scratch the surface. My wiki coding is really rusty since it's been 4 years.
I think Fusionfall Legacy's community is growing strong and I've been seeing good things about the game development. I think that the Fusionfall Communities need to unify and become strong together to form one big Fusionfall Community.
If there is any chance of revival Cartoon Network needs to know there is a large group of people that want Fusionfall. and even if there is no official revival, the spirit of the game needs to live on. Once I make more of a presence on the Fusionfall Communites I can continue spreading ideas, but for now I'm building my presence.
I think it is a great thing to have fanfiction. Throughout human history legends have been told and fanfics are exactly the same phenomenon. Fusionfall is indeed a legend that need to be kept alive... (and with all that being said, I was a huge Dexter/Blossom shipper when I was young and I still am.)
Ultimately, I think Regular Guy and TheTexasSooner still are the Gods of the FusionFall wikis; practically speaking, I suppose, faute de mieux, that I am their Prophet (not that I want people to say, “Peace be upon him” whenever they mention my name).I basically run things, but all the ultimate authority is still theirs, and they could, I believe, still cast me into the outer darkness if I were to go crazy and try to turn either wiki into my own personal Marty Stu-dom.
I agree with you that unity is desirable among the FusionFall community; however, from my experience, I doubt that is feasible. No five fans seem to agree on what the game is supposed to be; there are various individuals who seem to insist on enforcing their own ideas on the game; there are violent arguments among factions and constant secessions from each group and subgroup.(“What? You ship Dexter and Blossom?! How dare you try to take her away from her One True Love, Maleficent?! Ban, ban, ban, die, die, die!”)I just have doubts on whether the fans can pull together enough to wage a successful campaign with a company like Cartoon Network, though I would rejoice to learn that I was wrong.
I certainly don’t want to pressure you to do more than you feel comfortable with, but I would very much encourage you to be as active as you can on both wikis; You seem to me to be exactly the kind of contributor we need: knowledgeable, creative, rational, and dedicated.
I am eager to listen to your work as soon as I can devote a decent amount of time to its appreciation.Heh, perhaps soon you can compose a FusionFall Festival Overture!
Thank you for your good luck. I don't think the focus would be on getting the game back online, I think the focus is on looking at the culture, art, and inspiration that can come from a bigger better community. I will do my best to contribute to the wikis.
A community should be something that you want to come back to because of the the stories, the interations and ultimately the people. If the game happens it happens.
Thanks, yes, I am now. I'll take a look at it -- I think he IS a teen, isn't he? I think we can probably make a note to the effect of, "Like many of CN's other child characters, he has been 'aged up' to a teenager." Anyway, thanks for the heads-up! I'll get on it as soon as I can.
I don’t understand. What, exactly, did you make up?Johnny Test does seem to have been aged up, and quite a number of other child characters definitely have been. I don’t think any definite age was ever stated, but they definitely are teens.
That's what I thought. I didn't think Johnny was an eleven-year-old, so I took that out of the first line, and put in the trivia section that he had been aged up. Of course, his Nano still looks rather child-like, so I included that in the trivia, too. By the way, how about Mac? His entry says he is eight years old; he looks a bit younger than most of the characters in the game. I would have guessed about ten. (His Nano also looks a bit younger, to me at least.) Do we have official word on his age?
