The following article is about something that was added to Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall in 2010 or later. This category includes content from the Birthday Bash, the various FusionFall Adventures, and The Academy tutorial, amongst other updates. |
Ice King's Castle is an area in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. It is the interior of a large iceberg-like castle in Orchid Bay that belongs to the Ice King. It serves as the Ice King's personal residence and the holding quarters for the princesses that he kidnaps. It can be accessed via a warp portal at the top of the iceberg in Orchid Bay.
Environment[]
Ice King's Castle consists mainly of two space. It lies inside the confines of Orchid Bay.
The castle is divided into two levels: an upper level and a basement level. On the upper level, one can find Ice King and Gunter. This level, much like the rest of the castle, is made entirely of ice and snow. However, its design is very much reminiscent of a living room. Here, there are two dolls of what appears to be Way Big and Alien X Nanos on a shelf, the Ice King's drum set, an actual TV stand on top of a block of ice, and an armchair that is not made of ice. Toward the rear of the upper level is a deep hole in the floor that leads to the basement level.

The basement level is much larger than the upper level, but still consists entirely of ice and snow. It holds two Fusion Portals and two additional Fusion Lairs accessible through warp portals designed like icy dungeon doors that players can use when the appropriate Missions are active. Finn, Jake, Princess Bubblegum, and the Adventure Racer are also present in the basement, all four of whom stand in a gathering around the hole in the roof that leads into the basement from the upper level. Jake in particular serves as a Jump Pad that players can use to get back up to the upper level in the caste through the aforementioned hole.

Origin[]

The Ice King's Castle, from Adventure Time.
The Ice King's Castle originates from the 2010 American fantasy animated television series Adventure Time. In that media, it is the personal residence of the Ice King and his penguin pets, including Gunter, and the main landmark of the Ice Kingdom, the frigid domain of the Ice King in Ooo. The castle itself is basically a hollowed out iceberg, with only very few of the Ice King's commodities within it not being made out of ice and snow. The castle features things such as a drum set, a fancy bedroom, a workout studio, and a stew of other rooms, tunnel networks, and secret spaces that reflect the Ice King's deranged personality. Like the rest of the Ice Kingdom however, the castle will melt in high temperatures.
Early on, the castle would be the place where the Ice King would trap the princesses that he kidnapped for his plans to marry one of them. As such, it would often be visited by Finn and Jake during their princess rescues. However, the castle would be used less and less for keeping princesses trapped as the Ice King abandoned that habit. One time though, the castle got melted by Flame Princess, leaving the Ice King to move in with Finn and Jake until he could rebuilt it.
