FF ReStart, also known as FusionFall ReStart, is an in-development fangame based on the Cartoon Network MMORPG FusionFall. The project is being lead by Jordan Mistical, a longtime member of the FusionFall community, and former developer on the now defunct FusionFall RE:SPAWN fangame. It's being built from the ground up, while taking inspiration from FusionFall Legacy and the late ReSpawn. It will deliver a Original game feel with updated graphics.

A demo for the game is currently in development with no stated release date as of yet.

On August 8, 2022, an early alpha build of the game was released to the public for a limited time via the projects Discord server. It is a landwalker of the first area, Future Tech Square.

On New Years Day of 2023, a new alpha build of the game was released for a limited time via the projects Discord server. This alpha build is a landwalker of the Snowfall area.

History[]

Background[]

After the cancelation of FusionFall RE:SPAWN, one of the games developers, Jordan Mistical, decided to take the remnants of the project and continue development on it, later taking the game in a new direction. It is now being lead and developed by him with the help of others.

Development[]

A demo for the game is currently in development and has no release date as of yet. The projects development is primarily documented on its dedicated Twitter account and its Discord server, but has been additionally documented in the past on Jordan Mistical's Twitter account. The project also has its own YouTube channel. In addition, there are occasional streams of the games development on Jordan's Twitch page.

2022[]

On August 8, 2022, an early alpha build of the game was released to the public for a limited time via the projects Discord server. It is a landwalker of the first area, Future Tech Square.

On August 30, it was announced that the project would be indefinitely delayed due to major issues with the Unity engine, but it appears that those issues have since been resolved.

On October 29, the projects first devblog was released. It is themed to Halloween.

On Christmas of 2022, a video was released on the projects YouTube channel showcasing the work done so far on Suburbs areas in the Past.

2023[]

On New Years Day of 2023, a new alpha build of the game was released for a limited time via the projects Discord server. This alpha build is a landwalker of the Snowfall area.

On February 19, Jordan Mistical released an entire folder containing old devbuilds, some of which previously were not released. There are 6 builds included: RESTART DEMO V0.5 (created 2/14/22), RESTART old DEMO V0.5.1 (created 2/16/22), Old-Build (created 4/1/22, the April Fools build), ReStart old Alpha Build (created 4/28/22), ReStart earlyyyyyyyyyyy Alpha 2.0 build (created 6/20/22), and ReStart Alpha 1.0 (created 8/8/22).

2024[]

On St. Patrick's Day Jordan Mistical released a new devblog focusing on everything green for the holiday!

On April 1st, developer Tjfly127 (Tim) released an April Fools devblog focusing on Ronaldo from Steven Universe and showing off some new silhouettes of NPC's coming to the Fusionfall ReStart expansion.

Story[]

The demo will take place in Tech Square Future, after the failed time travel experiment. The player awakens inside Dexlabs among the rubble. During the tutorial the player goes through the area, aiding the heroes, and doing a few Missions. They end up helping Ben recover an item that was stolen during the battle. After accepting the mission, the player has to venture into Mandark Industries.

Additions[]

  • The graphics will be updated.
  • The game will have some custom music tracks composed by Iron, such as the one found here for Future Tech Square, along with others by Panman that were originally made for FusionFall Legacy. A playlist of the planned music tracks can be found here.
  • The game will have new areas, such as the town of Elmore from The Amazing World of Gumball, as evident from it receiving a music track.
  • New enemies, such as the Garbage Grunt, will be in the game.
  • Ben will be redesigned to be more in line with his appearance in Ben 10: Omniverse.
  • A day-night cycle will be implemented

Trivia[]

  • The Snowfall area was originally conceived for FusionFall RE:SPAWN.
  • All of the alpha builds that were released were made back before ReStart moved to Unity version 2021.3.5f1 and were made using the old FusionFall RE:SPAWN unity project.
